Hello! Welcome!

This is the online living room of Ellie Zygmunt. I’m a Vancouver-based writer, critic, amateur photographer, sometimes musician, and person about town.

In a past life I was a senior adminstrator at a U15 Canadian university and a former Chief of Staff and COO in tech, including a stint at a Big Name company you might recognize. I no longer work in tech for reasons I’ve outlined here and am now a Happy Website Proprietor. My background means I have strong opinions about education, technology, art, and governance.

I also hold an MA in English Literature and rue the day everyone pivoted to video.

I am stubbornly commited to writing as well as I can about the things I think are important and interesting.

Speaking of writing, my previous credits include:

• Fresh Wizzy’s Radical Tower (a text-based, 90s themed adventure game that I also co-designed)
• My MA thesis about collective memory in comics
• A foray into figure skating blogging
• A newspaper column I convinced my home town weekly to let me write in the mid ‘00s
